A learnership programme (NQF Level 4) designed for recent Grade 12 learners to start a career in Civil Engineering as a Cadet Foreman in Earthworks and Civils. The programme combines immersive theoretical training with on-site experiential learning, requiring learners to complete monthly Site Workbooks and participate in phased training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Phase 1 - Theory-First Training: Intensive classroom phase followed by on-site experiential learning
• Phase 2 - Phased Monthly Training: Alternates between classroom theory and month-long on-site practicals
• Site Workbooks: Complete Monthly Site Workbooks (SWB) documenting practical tasks under mentor supervision, with submissions by month-end
• Assessments: Unit standard assessments are conducted at the start of each new session
• Compliance: Must submit completed Site Workbooks before training resumes

Qualifications

• Education: Matric (Grade 12)
• Advantageous: Mathematics and/or Technical Subjects
• Medical: Must pass a medical fitness examination
• Assessment: Will be subjected to a Learning Ability Battery to determine educational level
• Language: Must be fluent in English
